Artist Statment

Being relatively new to glass I am just recently starting to find my
place in this medium. Most commonly associated with glass is its beauty.
For obvious reasons, it is a hard attribute to oversee. My art does
not have to be beautiful. It has to be inspiring.
I have worked with acrylic, water color, and oil paint, as well
as, music, photography, and metal smith. It was not until 2005 that I
discovered my new medium of choice. Since then, I have studied under
Maestro Robert Mickelsen, Carmen Lozar, Scott Deppe, Christopher McElroy
and Mark Lammi. The one thing I learned from all of them, was that glass
has no limits.
Besides my wife, my main source of inspiration is progression.
Not only individual progression, but progression as a whole. This happens
when an artist decides to create something and doesn’t stop to wonder if
anybody will like it. An even better situation would be if an artist
assumes nobody will like it and still creates it with a smile. This is
what causes art to progress. Without it, art would be boring. Without it,
I would be bored.
